John Crier is an R.S.W. and has a B.A. in Native Studies from Augustana University College in Alberta, Canada. He currently works for Maskwachees Cultural College of Hobbema, Alberta, as the Dean of Cultural Studies.
John designs and facilitates a variety of personal development programs, including: John is a certified NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Practitioner and a certified Shadow Work® coach. He has worked as a facilitator for Shadow Healing, Inc., in Montreal and has completed a certificate for development of facilitation and healing skills from Four Worlds International Institute for Human and Community Development. John is an active member of a worldwide men's organization, The Mankind Project (MKP), helping to steward the MKP's multicultural initiative through the inclusive integration of diverse belief systems and cultural traditions in its projects. At Maskwachees Cultural College, John shares with students stories from the Newiyaw (Cree people) and is currently working to incorporate the mythology of the Newiyaw to heal and empower communities. A member of the Samson Cree Nation, John lives and works in his home community of Hobbema. He and his wife, Marcia, have six children and a bunch of grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
